Little is known about Dilandau’s past. What is known is that he is the son of military officer, who fought beside the King during the Niew Huisian civil war. Dilandau’s father was given charge of protecting the Mark, specifically Ashbenford. While Dilandau was an infant, Ashbenford came under siege by Republican forces. Dilandau’s father, charged with the defense of the city, fought until the last man. Most assumed Dilandau had perished as well during the battle. However, some twenty years later Dilandau resurfaced in the Mark. He returned to Ashbenford around the time Baron Gallagher arrived in the city to assume its governorship.
